I cut and polish my own fordite, surfite and bowlerite, I'm happy to take commissions.

Full description
These muted drop earrings feature teardrops of fordite bezel set in sterling silver finished with simple sterling silver hooks. The fordite has a darker colour palette of grey and navy with a little white and mid blue, some of the colours have a subtle shimmer, they are toned down compared to a lot of the fordite I have. They are a sister pair - the patterns don't match but the colour palette does so they make sense as a pair. The earrings measure 48mm (from top of hook) by 20mm across, fordite is lightweight so comfortable to wear all day.
Fordite is layers of cured paint that builds up on paint lines at vehicle factories where the paint misses the panel it is meant for. This over spray builds up getting baked in between each layer giving a hard material which can be cut and polished to show the colours. This material was sold to me as coming from a Harley Davidson motorbike factory, they do lots of custom paint jobs which makes pinning down a specific year difficult as the colours don't appear on the official colour charts. Love the idea of fordite but want something else - drop me a message, I have a stash covering quite a few brands and years so should be able to make you what you want.
