Full description
A handmade purple heart wood pendant with a hard wax satin polish. This is a simple trapezoid shape which shows off the amazing red/purple colour of this wood. The longer sides are much darker as they show the end grain. It’s surprisingly heavy for such a small piece of wood.
SIZE: The pendant is trapezoid, roughly 5cm x 3cm (at the base) and 0.6cm thick.
The necklace is adjustable from around 30 - 80 cm using simple sterling silver crimp ends (the equivalent of sliding knots).
SHIPPING : FREE Royal Mail “Signed For” 1st Class. Signature required upon delivery.
PACKAGING : Presented in a Progress Crafts branded gift box made from unbleached and undyed recycled card (called hairy manilla which makes me chuckle). Posted in unbleached and undyed recycled card packaging or re-used packaging. All packaging is kept as minimal and as natural as possible.
WOOD SOURCE : This purple heart wood is an off-cut from a circular “blank” used for wood turning. There is a timber merchant (and much more) called Yandles in Somerset and their timber store is full of an amazing variety of wood. They have big bins of off-cuts so as little as possible is wasted. All their exotic wood can be traced back to the source which is important to me.
MATERIALS : The pendant is purple heart. The necklace is waxed black cotton. All the findings are Sterling Silver 925 : dropper peg, jump ring and crimp ends.
