Full description
A handmade chunky wooden pendant using strand woven bamboo with a hard wax satin polish. Strand woven bamboo is solid and heavy, created by tearing the bamboo fibres apart and gluing them back together. This gives it some lovely and unusual patterns although it is difficult to work with. The pendant is round, gently tapering in thickness towards the top. The outer edges are rounded giving it a smooth feel.
SIZE: The round pendant is approximately 5cm diameter and 1.2cm thick at the base gently tapering at the top. The hole is 2.5cm diameter.
The necklace is adjustable from around 30 - 80 cm using simple sterling silver crimp ends (the equivalent of sliding knots).

PACKAGING : Presented in a Progress Crafts branded gift box made from unbleached and undyed recycled card (called hairy manilla which makes me chuckle). Posted in unbleached and undyed recycled card packaging or re-used packaging. All packaging is kept as minimal and as natural as possible.
WOOD SOURCE : This bamboo was from a spare plank from my kitchen floor. The wood is very solid and difficult to work with as it blunts tools quickly and needs a slow pace when cutting, drilling or sanding.
MATERIALS : The pendant is strand woven bamboo. The necklace is waxed black cotton. All the findings are Sterling Silver 925 : dropper peg, jump ring and crimp ends.
