Full description
This one-of-a-kind ceramic vase is a celebration of the beauty found in imperfection. Inspired by the Japanese art of kintsugi, where broken pottery is repaired with gold (gold colour for this item), this piece highlights its unique history through the delicate golden lines that trace its surface.
The vase is handcrafted from stoneware clay, glazed in earthy greens, blues, purple, and oranges that evoke a sense of tranquility and connection to nature. The glaze has been allowed to flow and drip freely, creating a captivating, organic texture. The golden "repairs" highlight these natural variations, adding a touch of warmth and luminosity. I've also used a crackle glaze. The item was designed to be egg-shell like. Shown at its best in natural light.
This item is intended as a standalone decorative piece only. It would make a thoughtful and unique gift for anyone who appreciates handcrafted beauty and the philosophy of kintsugi.
