This beautiful Scottish gemstone pendant has been created using sterling silver, 24 kt gold foil and a beautiful Lewisian Gneiss gemstone.
This gemstone is 3000 million years old and is the oldest stone that is found in Scotland. It is found on the Scottish Hebridean islands and the Isle of Lewis and is believed to encourage the wearer to believe in magic!
I have added handmade silver flowers and leaves to the side of the gemstone. The centres of the little flowers have gold foil applied to them using the ancient technique of Keum Boo. The shape of these flowers was inspired by the little Scottish primrose that is found natively in only a small area of North Scotland.
The dimensions of the stone are 18 x 13 mm and the dimensions of the pendant are 36 x 20 mm (including leaves). You can select the chain length and please contact me if the length you would like is not listed.
The necklace has been hallmarked at the Edinburgh Assay Office and it will be delivered gift wrapped. Other pieces of Scottish gemstone jewellery are also available from Thistledown Wishes.
