These Freshwater Potato Pearls are not-quite-round, and have surface irregularities.
They are in delicate, pastel shades of pink, lilac and mauve.
Shell Pearls are man-made using nacre, the same material that makes natural pearls, and are considered the best replicas you can get. The ones here are a pale lavender-pink.
Both have a lovely sheen.
Pearls are thought to be a calming gem, and have long been associated with integrity, purity, loyalty and faith.
Pearl is the traditional birthstone for June and Gemini, the stone for the 30th wedding anniversary, and has been associated with love and marriage for thousands of years.

Elegant Freshwater Pearl necklace in delicate shades of pink, lilac and mauve.
The freshwater potato Pearls are of various sizes and shapes approximately in the 5-8mm range.
The rows of Pearls are separated by 15x2mm sterling silver curved tubes.
The necklace graduates to 4mm pale lavender Shell Pearls, and fastens with a sterling silver toggle clasp.
A perfect gift for a June birthday, as Pearl is the birthstone for June and Gemini.
Pearl is also the stone for the 30th wedding anniversary.
Popular for weddings, Pearls make an excellent choice for bridal jewellery or as bridesmaid gifts.
