Item details

I created this rebellious skull and crossbones Jolly Roger ring to show a sense of self-identity, to be boldly worn displaying individual style. Just like the original pirate flags, which identified a diverse array of captains and crews. From devious Rackham to daring Bonney, goodly England to the infamous Blackbeard. Let you be you and let it be seen. Hoist your colours high!

This mighty Jolly Roger ring is made using Solid Sterling Silver. No cheap bendy shanks here. It's made to last!

Full description

This ring is made in full and half uk sizes from size Q to Z 4.

Recycled Silver.

Birmingham Assay Office hallmarked.

17x12mm rectangular head with an oceanic depth of 2.9mm.

The all important crafting of the ring:

First, I deftly apply a hammered effect half way round the outside of the shank, leaving a slight satin/polished sheen toward the top half.

I then create the by melting recycled silver, cooling and pickling said silver, before placing it into a shot plate. And on it goes to the 20 tonne press. A couple of mighty presses later, with annealing and cutting down the silver in between, I start to see all the intricate details within. I proceed with a final trim up, sanding, and buffing, before fusing some recycled silver shards/dust on top, along with soldering the skull and crossbones on.

The ring is finished with a Non Toxic (many used are toxic) liver of sulphur (black finish) then put in a tumbling machine to shine up some parts whilst others keep their blackened, shadowy depths. Finally, I apply renaissance wax to protect it all and help maintain the impeccable finish.
