Full description
A quilt made in traditional block style using sumptuous cotton prints from the Moda Rouennieries Deux collection. Shades of red, pink-red, cream and grey give this quilt a wonderfully softened, antique look. A beautiful sofa or bed throw.
I have created a pieced back using larger pieces of the Moda fabric collection to create extra interest and to fit with the true patchwork tradition of making good use of every last piece of fabric.
The quilt is made from 100% cotton with an inner layer of Hobbs 80-20 cotton/polyester wadding. It drapes beautifully and has just the right weight to snuggle under on the sofa or to hold down a duvet on Winter nights.
The three layers of the quilt are held together with quilting in a traditional diagonal grid design that compliments the patchwork patterns and creates a textured pattern on the front and back.
The red and cream home-made binding is a double layer of cotton for durability and I've carefully hand stitched it in place with an invisible stitch.
The quilt measures 62" x 70" (158cm x178cm). It is machine washable on a gentle cycle.
