I have been making, and teaching others how to make, all kinds of Dorset buttons for many years. Recently I decided that I ought to get all that experience and information written as a simple practical guide for others to use.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.
Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; items which deteriorate quickly (e.g. food), personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken; digital items.
Please note that if your order is being posted outside mainland UK, you (or the recipient) may have to pay customs or VAT charges and a handling fee. The seller is not responsible for any charges or fees that may incur.
This is an A5 sized booklet containing 16 pages of comprehensive information to enable someone to begin making all sorts of Dorset buttons. The instructions have been developed from many years of making and showing others how to make Dorset buttons and would be useful if you are unable to get along to a workshop.
The booklet starts with a page of background history and continues with sections covering the different types of Dorset button, including the simple cart or cross wheel, traditional cross wheel designs and some contemporary designs too. A description of how to work each button together with a chart accompanies a photograph of a finished example. Colour work and how to add beads to buttons are also covered.
Other Dorset buttons included are the Singleton, High Top, Dorset Knob, Grindle, Bird’s Eye and the Yorkshire Button variant.
There are plenty of black and white illustrations throughout the booklet so that you are not influenced by my colour choices and can use your favourite colours.
Inside the front and back covers are some colour photographs of some of the items that I make using my buttons which can be found in my Folksy shop.
A printed version which can be sent by post is available in a separate listing..
For this electronic version the file will be sent by e-mail, please check your junk mail folder if you do not see it once I’ve marked your order shipped.
