I had the opportunity to purchase some recycled hardwood, it looked to me, like it wanted to be a Candle holder. I have made a few of these (others will be up soon) also from Beech which was also recycled.

Full description
This is a piece of solid oak from one limb, not the glued up laminated stuff.
Recycled from another piece of furniture and crafted into a lovely little Tea Light Candle Holder. The Solid Oak Tea light Candle holder is complete with 3 glass removable holder for your tea lights.
Imagine slipping into your bath with this beauty going, very romantic and very relaxing especially if you use scented candles. Or it could be used in the room you are in for that glow to relax you.
In the image, you can see the medullary rays, these are natural to the growth of the tree but the cells run in a different direction, causing the lovely character you see in the images. They give a beautiful shine to the piece when it catches the light.
Its length is approx 7 inches and approx 3 inches tall, and has small rubber feet to protect your surfaces.
