April 2025: Welcome to my shop! There's a mixture of handmade fabric goods - patchwork quilts, bags, table runners and more! All made from high quality fabrics in my smoke-free, pet-free home sewing studio.
The colours of these fabrics just made me think of the sea and I enjoyed quilting the wavy lines across to reference the gentle lap of waves on a sunny summer beach.

Full description
A patchwork of more than thirty fabrics creates a shifting, sparkling sea of colour. Made from 100% cotton fabrics, this quilt with its snuggly inner layer of wadding can be used as a sofa throw or bed throw or taken outside to be used as a picnic blanket.
Cotton fabrics in vibrant shades of green, blue, aqua, turquoise and yellow have been used to give this patchwork throw a real seaside vibe.
'Colours of the Sea' measures 155cm wide by 170cm long (61" x 67"). Can be machine washed on a gentle cycle.
The backing fabric is a 100% cotton in turquoise with circular designs in green, blue and grey. Across one corner of the back I've stitched in place a label which gives details including the name, 'Colours of the Sea', when and where the quilt was made as well as washing instructions.
Inside the quilt is a layer of soft, warm and lightweight 80% cotton, 20% polyester wadding. The three layers of the quilt (patchwork top, wadding and backing) are stitched together with a gentle curving design echoed across the quilt. Around the edge is a double layer of binding made from the same fabric as one of the borders in the patchwork top. I've hand stitched the binding in place for an extra-neat finish.
