Thank you for visiting Looney Spoons! I've got spoons for all occasions and budgets, and since I hand stamp each and every letter myself - if you don't see exactly what you want, just ask me to stamp it for you. Personalisation makes a gift extra-special.
My prices haven't increased since 2021 and will remain fixed until the end of the year. I haven't increased my postage in line with the latest price hike either; it will remain fixed until the end of the year too. I always combine the postage no matter how many spoons you purchase... AND there are lots of bargains in the Bargain Bin already, with plenty more to come. I would like everyone in the UK to find a spoon in their stocking on Christmas morning!
Please note I'll be shutting the shop for my Christmas break on FRIDAY 13 DECEMBER - well before Royal Mail's last posting dates - so don't leave it too late to order your festive spoons. I'll be reopening on Monday 6 January.
You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

A hand stamped vintage silver-plated tea spoon with wording inspired by Rene Magritte's masterpiece 'The Treachery of Images'. Is it or isn't it a spoon? Is it still a spoon if it says it isn't one? Is the inscription true, or not? Is it Art? Either way you can stir your tea with it so ultimately these questions are of purely intellectual interest. It's a generously sized teaspoon measuring approximately 14.5cm long and it has lovely ribbing and scroll detailing on the handle. I would guess it's probably Victorian and it's clearly been loved and used a LOT (by someone who was right-handed and took plenty of sugar).
This would make a fun little gift for a tea-loving artiste or an art-loving tea drinker, or why not just treat yourself to a little bit of daftness to brighten your own day. Especially if you live or work with people who just wouldn't get the joke...
This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. Please study the photographs with care if signs of ageing and wear on your spoons bother you, because this has plenty of both! The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand.
I can do other wording to order so if there's another arty quote you'd like to see on a spoon, do please get in touch via the 'contact' link on the front page of my shop (you can click 'View shop' above the thumbnails at the bottom of this listing to get back there).
