Full description
A bespoke lampwork peacock necklace with vibrant blue and teal plumes - a quirky necklace for any nature lover. The transparent blue and teal glass has been melted in layers to create a feather effect and then poked with a tungsten poker to create an air bubble. The bead has then been encased with clear glass for added depth. The lampwork bead starts life as simple glass rods that I melt in the flame and onto mandrels. I then add layers of glass and continue to melt and shape in the flame - picture 9 shows the process.
All the jewellery findings (handmade headpins, pendant bail and chain) are solid Sterling Silver. The pendant comes with a 16 inch sterling silver chain and is presented in a box
COE 104 glass has been used to create the lampwork bead.
The lampwork bead has been kiln annealed to relieve any internal stress that may have formed during the melting process and thus increase the overall durability and strength. Please note that whilst the bead has been kiln annealed it can still be delicate due to the nature of glass.
