Hi, I'm The Old Button - welcome to my shop and I hope you find lovely things that you would like to buy.
I post every day, using Royal Mail First Class for cards, and Track 24 for all other items, and I can post directly to the recipient - see my Upgrades listings. Dispatch times are currently 1-3 days for most of my makes, with a few taking longer as indicated in the item details.
In the busy run up to Christmas, I'm no longer taking commissions for my embroidered play scenes and my patchwork quilts, but I have gift voucher options. The last day for ordering my custom hand embroidered Christmas stockings and Child's Drawing Pictures is Monday 9th December. For all other items I will be open right up until Christmas week.
I originally created the tree design for one of my playmats, and wanted to recreate in other makes. The owl print I used for the border inspired me to add a little owl to the tree - with big button eyes.

Full description
This is a sew it yourself kit for my own design, featuring a wise owl in a tree with autumn leaves. Suitable for a confident beginner or intermediate sewist, with lots of detailed instructions to help develop specific sewing skills.
Sent in an eco-cardboard box (with a protective compostible mailer cover), this is perfect for a letterbox gift.
Recommended for adults, and older children (8 plus) with adult supervision.
Felt applique is very good for beginners, and blanket stitch is a very easy stitch that is worked quickly. A perfect introduction to appliqued patchwork techniques as well as general sewing.
This diy sewing kit includes high quality natural materials such as quilting cotton, wool felt and bamboo wadding, and uses a number of hand-sewing techniques that are fun to learn - including applique, embroidery and patchwork. More information is given in the photos.
It includes all the materials needed for hand sewing the wall hanging, you just need to provide scissors and a pen (and an optional iron). The kit can also be adapted to make a mini-cushion - just add your own stuffing.
Note, the kit does not include the scissors shown in the photo.
WARNING - This kit contains functional sharp items (needles, pins etc) and these should not be left where young children can access them.
