Full description

Measuring 10.3cm square and 5.5cm deep this candle holder incorporates both fused glass and stained glass painting techniques.

The coloured glass was carefully cut to shape and fused to a double layered clear base at 800 degrees Celsius to create one solid piece upon which to paint. The outlines of the plant were hand painted and returned to the kiln to fire overnight at 650 degrees Celsius to fix the paint. A final wash of glass paint was added and then partially removed by brush and wooden skewers in a technique which allows to paint with the light. This method adds texture and shading to the image. A third and final firing, again at 650 degrees Celsius fixes this layer of paint to create the final image. Once cooled, a glass tea light holder was fixed to create this standing decorative piece perfect to capture the light behind.

Postage and packaging is included within the UK.
