This is one of a developing series of larger two-colour linocuts. This historic building is one of just a few left from the mass of potteries that once blanketed Stoke-on-Trent with smoke in the Potteries’ pre clean air act era! 47 bottle kilns remain in the city now, with quite number in Longton, including the world famous Gladstone Pottery Museum. This building, once owned by Chetam’s and later Ansley, is currently ‘in limbo’, hence the title, as it is not in use and only partially maintained desire it’s listed status.

Full description
One of a limited edition of nine hand-cut, hand-printed linocuts from my drawing of the historic former pottery on Commerce Street in Longton, Stoke-on-Trent. It is printed on Japanese Ho-Sho paper, using Caligo Safewash Oil-based relief inks. The print area measures 29.5cm wide by 19cm high, and the paper is 39.5cm wide by 28cm high. The linocut will be posted rolled in tissue paper in a cardboard tube.
