I’d never seen a piece if seaglass like this before. Since finding this, I have found a slightly larger piece of the same structure. Rarer than red seaglass!
So hope you will enjoy wearing this unusual piece.

Full description

This unusual piece of seaglass was collected from Withernsea beach, East Yorkshire. It is very well rounded and has two distinct colours, grey at the base and white at the top. It looks as it there is an opaque layer between them. I have since found a larger piece but still no clearer as to its origins, although recent reading suggested this type of glass came from television screens!

The piece is top mounted with a Sterling silver bail and a frosted Sterling silver bead. It connects to a light 18in Sterling silver chain with a twisted silver ring. The seaglass is approx 1.5cm at its widest and longest and is an almost perfect teardrop shape.

Every piece of seaglass is unique due to the action of saline, sand and stone on the glass as it moves across the seabed, but I have no idea of the potential origin of this type of seaglass. So very unique!!

This will be sent out using 1st class large letter post.
