Made in Wirral by me, Alison Bailey Smith. My work is definitely a by-product of the 21st century & I have been described as a 'techno -cannibal' by BBC journalist Clare English. My career has spanned 3 decades and three different countries since leaving Edinburgh College of Art in 1990. The motivation behind my work comes from being the child of post war parents, Scottish thriftiness and an avid watcher of Blue Peter! My need to re-use, re-develop and re-create can be seen in my use of ordinary materials in my creations.

Full description
Wire wrapped wrapper made in Wirral from recycled materials including re-purposed copper lacquered wire from old televisions and wrappers from chocolate with green plastic coated wire edge. Can accommodate thick hair (and a tip for thinner hair, remove the bar and add elastic to provide grip).
Made in 2021 with green edge added in April 2023.
16 cm x 5 cm dimensions with 8cm silver plated clasp.
Presented in a fabulously pink box with information card to describe the materials. The box was bought from end of stock, but beautifully tying in to my branding colours.
All outer packaging will have been repurposed.
