Years ago I visited Portree on the Isle of Skye and have always remembered the bay looking out to see. This picture includes a spit of headland on the horizon I don't recall, but I felt it added to the scene. The weave is made from many different shades of yarn with rolling waves and a moody sky, just how I remember it at the time.

Full description
This hand woven wall hanging (30 x 39 inches) depicts a bay and headland seascape using different yarns (both wool and acrylic) with different textures, colours and weaving techniques. The sea is rough and rolling, the sky is moody. On the horizon there is a small spit of headland which your eyes are drawn to as you look beyond the bay. It is hung from a 34 inch long dowel with wooden bead detail underneath. The full length of the design, including the tassels is approximately 39 inches. The weave itself is approximately 30 inches across.
