Being a fibre artist and loving all things fibre, I contacted my local farm and purchased a rare breed Portland fleece. I thought it would be wonderful to spin wool from the place that I live, especially as the breed of sheep is so rare. It’s is such a lovely fibre that I’d like other people to discover and use it in their projects too. .

Full description
100g rare breed portland sheep batt for spinning.
Natural colour but can be dyed easily.
The fleece comes from the Isle of portland, and is scoured, washed, picked and carded all by hand. This is such a lovely fibre to work with if spinning into wool, as it is very versatile and ever so soft. It’s also easy to handle if you are just learning to spin. If you’ve never spun a rare breed portland sheep fleece then I urge you to try it. It’s my favourite fibre to work with.
Please note that every effort has been made to remove vegetation from the fleece, but some may remain and will come out whilst spinning.
