All of the jewellery pieces in this Folksy shop are handmade by myself in a lovely, shed studio in my back garden.
The handmade jewellery I make is inspired by nature, the coastline of my home Island of Mersea, meaningful words and the joy of simplicity.
Handmade in recycled sterling silver, recycled gold, sterling silver, copper, 14ct gold filled, and occasionally brass. Semi-precious stones, precious stones and beads are also featured in my work.
Thank you very much for your support.
I love the combination of gold and pearls. I am particularly interested in creating modern contemporary pearl jewellery. Not so much interested in fashion more creating something unique that will last over time. This time experimenting with molten gold.

Asymmetric, mismatched and one of a kind. Due to how these earrings have been handmade there won't be another pair of earrings like these.
I collect scarps, offcuts of gold and keep them in a tiny pot. Every now and then I melt the gold, maybe to make gold hearts or gold balls. This time I melted the gold into a ball and whilst it was still molten I pushed onto it with a piece of charcoal to form unique organic like gold structures.
Gold wire had been soldered onto the gold forms to thread on peals. One form had five tiny white pearls threaded onto it, the other just one larger white pearl. The gold wire had been wrapped to secure the pearls and to be able to loop onto the gold creole hoops.
The gold forms and pearl pieces can be taken off so that you can wear the creole hoops on their own, or mix and match with the forms, to create a different mismatched style each time you wear them, if you wish.
There is a small hallmark on the creole/sleeper hoops, the earrings had been hallmarked by Birmingham Assay office for their weight in solid gold.
The earring with the single pearl measures 3.2cm in length.
The earring with five tiny pearls measures 3.7cm in length.
The creole hoops on their own measure 16.cm.
As they are ready made, they can be dispatched within 1 - 3 days.
Come sent in a mahogany wood earring box.
