I saw one of these bulbs lit up in a shop and instantly thought that it would go really well with some parts of an old cast iron fire grate that I had. I bought one, set to work and this is the result!

See my Pinterest “my creations for sale” board for a video of this lamp powered up, the effect is fantastic! Just the job for your castle’s banqueting hall, bed chambers, crypt, dungeons or passageways, a flaming wall sconce repurposed from reclaimed timber, some parts of a vintage cast-iron fire grate and finished off with brand new electrical parts including a neat and convincing flame effect bulb which has a frosted glass jar sitting on it.
The woodwork has been rough carved and treated to look dark, rustic and aged but is protected by a coat of French polish, the cast iron parts have been de-rusted and given a coat of fresh black paint.
For ease of installation, I have drilled 4 holes in the back plate to fix securely to your castle wall and provided 3 metres of gold twisted braided flex with a black inline switch and a black British standard plug. The brass bulb holder and cast-iron cup in which it sits are safety earthed.
