As soon as I saw this vintage Bakelite clarinet for sale, I knew what a stunning decorative lamp it would make when cleaned up, adapted and fitted with a treble clef bulb. The idea of the touch switch came later, during the build, and makes a great additional feature.

Full description
A table lamp with a musical theme, made from a vintage Bakelite clarinet, with a treble clef bulb, mounted onto a reclaimed wood base. I have securely fitted a black E27 (ES) lampholder into the horn of the instrument, squared off the mouthpiece end and secured the whole to a wooden base which has been sanded and treated with Danish Oil. Concealed within a spark-proof metal container, itself hidden in the base, is a touch dimmer switch with 3 levels of brightness and off. This powers the 4-Watt LED G125 globe bulb with its filament in the shape of a treble clef musical symbol supplied with the lamp. The lamp is operated by touching the chromed dome on the base.
Finishing off this stunning lamp is a 6 foot/1.8 metre, black fabric braided flex fitted with a black UK standard plug with the correct 3a fuse.
