Full description

A hand stamped vintage nickel silver alloy tea spoon with the words AWAKE BECAUSE TEA. It's a plain 'old english' teaspoon measuring approximately 5" (12.5cm) long and I would guess it's 1940s. The stamping dies I've used are also 1940s.

This listing is for ONE spoon. You will receive the spoon shown in the photographs. The lettering is coloured with a non-toxic, water-based acrylic ink. Wash carefully by hand as the colour is not indestructible - the lettering, however, is stamped into the metal and should last pretty much as long as the spoon does.

Please note this is a vintage spoon so it has hairline scratches and wear marks in the plating. I've also left it un-polished as I rather liked its patina (you could remove this with a drop of silver polish but this spoon is alloy not plated so it's never going to polish up as shiny as a silver-plated spoon, it'll always have that 'make do and mend' vibe.) This spoon has been around a bit and has character. It's a survivor. If you were looking for a mirror-finished brand new spoon, this isn't one. Just so you know.
