Full description

A pretty fused glass dish created using precision-cut rectangles of transparent art glass in amber and shades of cobalt, pale blue and turquoise. Beautiful as a stand-alone piece, particularly when placed on a white shelf or windowsill, where the colours can really pop and reflect the light but can also be used as a small fruit bowl. The dish is unique, and would make a lovely gift item. Size is approximately 16cm square with a gentle curve to a maximum depth of 4cm. Please note hand washing is recommended.

The dish was created using the 'design down' technique - that is the coloured pieces of glass were hand-cut and placed into the kiln first, and then a second layer of clear glass was placed over the top. During firing the top layer holds the seams together and gives nice crisp lines between the colours. A second firing was then carried out over a mould, which causes the glass to drop gently into the required shape.

The dish will be sent wrapped in plenty of bubble wrap for safe transit, and recycled packaging is used where possible.
