Full description

These hoop earrings have edgy triangular drops of fordite which can be slipped off the sterling silver hoops and reversed to show a completely different pattern and colour palette. The 'front' has roughly concentric triangles of sparkly grey, pink and red with non sparkly black, white and grey. The 'reverse' has sparkly blue and silver with bright green, drab green, black and white. The hinged hoops measure 20mm diameter and the drops are 47mm by 20mm (total drop of hoop and fordite is 64mm). Fordite is lightweight so they would be comfy to wear all day.

Not come across fordite before? It's layers of over spray paint that builds up in spray booths at car factories, the build up gets baked in the curing ovens in between each layer of paint giving a hard material that can be cut to show the many different colours in it. This particular material came from Jeep's factory in Toledo in 2021 (the sparkly pink and bright green were limited edition colours only produced that year) and I cut and polish the material myself (you can see the rough in some of the pictures - not included). I have quite a stash of fordite from different factories so if you love the idea of fordite but want something else then drop me a message as I can probably help.
