I cut and polish my own fordite, surfite and bowlerite, I'm happy to take commissions.

Full description
These shimmery earrings feature drops of fordite in sparkly shades of red, blue, silver, green with a little black and grey. The fordite is bezel set in sterling silver and the earrings are finished with simple sterling silver hooks. The patterns don't quite match but they were cut from the same slice of rough to make them a complimentary pairing. The earrings measure approx 50mm from the top of the hook to the bottom by 19mm across, fordite is light weight making them comfortable to wear all day. Comes gift boxed.
Fordite is the name given to many layers of cured car paint that builds up in old style spray booths at car factories. The paint gets baked hard in between each layer leading to a durable material that can be cut to show off the many colours. This particular rough I bought from a guy who worked at Ford's Wayne Assembly plant and he had collected it from the production line in 2018 (they were doing C-max and Focus at that time, you can just see some 'outrageous green' in the colours). I cut this material myself so if you love fordite but want something else making drop me a message, I have quite a stash of rough from various eras and manufacturers. Fordite is becoming increasingly hard to source and thanks to more efficient painting processes less is being made so if you love your cars get some of the unique material whilst you can. The rough you can see is not included in the sale.
