G'Day and welcome to my shop of jewellery delights! Due to the new EU General Product Safety Regulation (GPSR) rules coming into force from 13 December, I will no longer be shipping to any EU country, which also includes Northern Ireland after this date. Although I ensure all the components I use in my jewellery are safe for consumers, I don't think my business can afford the EU agent that is required.
LAST POSTING DATES: UK - 14 DEC; REST OF WORLD - 1 DEC. Please note, I'm happy to post items after these dates, but delivery speeds can be reduced due to large volume of Christmas post, so Royal Mail cannot guarantee delivery before Christmas.

I've been lucky enough to visit the Tower of London and seen the Crown Jewels as well as 'Traitors Gate'.
Who are the Beefeaters? The Yeomen Warders of Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress the Tower of London, are ceremonial guardians of the Tower of London .They were were originally part of the Yeoman of the Guard – the monarch’s personal, crack bodyguard who traveled with the monarch everywhere. In principle Yeoman Warders are responsible for looking after any prisoners in the Tower and safeguarding the British crown jewels. They have also conducted guided tours of the Tower since the Victorian era.
But why are they called Beefeaters? The name Beefeater is of uncertain origin. The earliest mention is from 1669 by Cosimo III de Medici, where he stated, "A very large ration of beef is given to them daily at the court, and they might be called Beef-eaters". But there are various derivations of the origin of the name!

If you've ever visited the Tower of London, you may have spotted a Yeoman Warder - more commonly known as a Beefeater - in the grounds. So for fans of London landmarks, this cute and quirky brooch is for you!
Created by an amazing UK based design company - Lewis and Irene - this fabric features London landmarks like the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben, London Buses, Union Jacks, the Queen in her golden coach, plus of course these Beefeaters and the Tower of London.
For this lovely brooch I have selected a Yeoman Warder in his eye-catching red uniform,full regalia, like the hat, buckles on his shoes and holding a long-handled axe, standing next to a drawing of the Tower of London (you can just spot it on the right of the brooch). I’ve then made a 38mm diameter fabric covered flat backed button and added some toy filling to the front to create a nice domed effect.
On the back of the button, I have secured a birch plywood (FSC approved) circle, followed by a couple of layers of matte varnish for added protection, leaving the natural grain of the wood to shine through. I've also added a gold plated brooch with safety back.
This unique brooch will come to you safe and carefully packaged in a UK Made eco-friendly recycled kraft card jewellery box (hand-folded by me!) - perfect for London fans, lovers of history, as a nice memento of a recent visit (or as a treat for yourself!)
