Full description

Honour some of the greatest women in science with these delightful fabric button brooches!

These charming pieces of wearable history are crafted from 100% cotton limited edition fabric, featuring a vibrant yellow background adorned with numerous Science heroes.

You can choose from four remarkable Science Heroes: Ada Lovelace, Rosalind Franklin, Marie Curie, or Grace Hopper! Each button showcases their surname, year they were born, and an illustration representing their significant discoveries.

All of these brilliant minds excelled in their respective fields of mathematics or science:

Ada Lovelace - Mathematician, depicted with an image of a calculating machine

Grace Hopper - Computer Scientist, features a computer

Marie Curie - represented by a nuclear symbol

Rosalind Franklin - English Chemist, illustrated with the double helix structure of DNA

I designed these 3.8cm fabric-covered buttons, giving them a slight padded dome effect. A plywood disc (FSC approved) has been securely placed in the back recess, covered with clear acrylic varnish, and finished with a gold-plated 2.5cm brooch back that includes a sliding security catch.

This brooch measures just under 4cm in diameter and is perfect for adorning a scarf, jacket, handbag, or your favourite tote bag! Your unique brooch will be delivered safely and thoughtfully packaged in a UK-made, eco-friendly recycled kraft card jewellery box with branded logo —ideal for gifting to that Science enthusiast!
