Formerly 'Buttons, Beads and Blanket Stitch'.
My work predominantly comprises hand cut and burnished lino prints, with sewing playing an occasional part.
Whether working in print or in stitch, I am inspired by the natural world and the people around me, with words/text frequently playing an integral part.
* I endeavour to represent my pieces as clearly and with colours as true to life as possible, however some slight variations in tone between the image on screen and the piece itself may occur.*
I love the long, dark evenings cosied up in front of the fire… My aim with this print was to capture a little of that feeling on paper.

This little print was a lovely one to create. Inspired by cosy winter evenings by the fire, my ‘Winter Warmer’ depicts a log burner and hearth on a beautiful handmade Japanese paper.
Having decided on the composition, I transferred my drawing onto a traditional hessian backed lino which I then hand cut and burnished in a rich black oil based ink onto a lovely piece of Kitakata paper.
The paper measures approx. 13cm x 18cm with the printed image itself at 10cm x 15cm approx. (roughly A6 size).
Each of this edition of 20 prints is marked as the first variable edition (VE1), numbered and signed and having been printed by hand, slight variations from print to print will occur; such is the beauty of a unique, hand crafted piece.
Your print will be posted to you in a cello with a back board, ready to present as is or to frame with the mount and surround of your choosing.
Fairly small in both size and price, these prints make a lovely easy to post gift.
Please note that the listing is for the print only; both the wooden hanger and the frame in the photographs are purely for display purposes.
In addition, please note that the deckle edge on the top of the print has been trimmed straight.
This print is also available printed onto Shiramine Select (VE2) and Hosho (VE3) papers - as seen in the photo showing the three prints.
