Sorting out my cupboard i found buried away a pair of antique shoe lasts from a little shop in Dorset which had been completely forgotten. So as is my way i just couldn't resist creating a creature for it.

"The little shoemaker"
The little mouse had been up all night making shoes, she was so tired she decided to catch forty winks.
This piece is hand and machine stitiched as well as hand painted and stained,each limb has a tiny button sewn on. A little night cap sits on her head and around her waist where her vintage lace tutu ruffles is a tiny tape measure scissors and rusty tin jingle bell.
She naps on an wooden antique shoe last where the little clogs she has just made lie.
This piece measures: 33cm x 1cm approx
N.B. this is not a toy and is not suitable for children.
