Once this was identified for me as carnelian, I was determined to make this into a usable piece. I researched whether carnelian could be drilled and here is the answer. My driller in chief (aka my husband) did a grand job. At present this is the one and only carnelian piece I have made, but I am sure more will follow if, and when, I find pieces if the right size to use. Enjoy!

This lovely natural carnelian stone has been drilled to create a pendant drop and is attached to an 18inch Sterling silver rope chain with a hand crafted sterling silver wire bail. I have only recently identified some stones that I have collected as carnelian and I am excited to be offering such a beautiful coloured stone in my shop. The stone has been dealt with in the same way as the seaglass I use. It has 3 faces, but the larger face makes a natural back to the drop.
This was collected from Withernsea beach in East Yorkshire.
This will be sent out using 1st class large letter post.
