From FIFTY BEES lll, this is the Female Gold-tailed Melitta or Melitta haemorrhoidalis.
There’s a bit of royal glitz with this one as she’s built into a really special antique Electroplated Silver pot celebrating the coronation of Edward Vll; how appropriate for our queen’s platinum jubilee?
This bee is made of needlefelted wool and stitched vintage thread and she has a lovely golden-orangey tail.
I do have other bees left from the four exhibitions. Much of these have been shared via the FIFTY BEES Instagram page.
