Returning once again to one of my favs. I love the sculptural quality of calla lilies and they grew in my mum's garden. I wanted to try a new approach, maybe with a contemporary twist. Something different often happens with canvas and I tried a stippling brush on top of the gouache in a banding format.

Full description
The white calla lilies are on a cream stippled canvas background, the 3 lily stems are accented with golden tones and sepia ink detail. There are stippled bands of sepia and burnt sienna at the top and bottom of the canvas which continues around the sides. I painted this in my Norfolk studio and it is ready to hang. The canvas measures 40.4cm x 30.5cm x 3.5cm. The warm pallet blends in easily and is one of a pair should you need a balanced effect. I call this one 'Sepia Ink Lilies II'.
