Full description
A beautiful magpie model created using woollen fibres and a barbed felting needle to sculpt the wool into shape. This magpie has been captured preparing to land. A core of white Corriedale wool has had markings added to the topcoat using merino wool fibres. The beak is formed from silk clay, the legs and feet are made from wool wrapped wire and the eyes are beaded. The wings and tail have been made using a combination of wet felting and needle felting techniques. The magpie has been mounted by means of a wooden dowel to wooden block. The whole ornament measures approximately 27cm tall.
