I was creating art-work for an American based gallery company several years ago and their brief was a 'quintessentially English still life with a contemporary twist'. So I brought some classic English flowers together with typical fruit and I thought the copper urn added a finishing touch. I also added a sprinkle of sand to texture the plums. This was one of several pieces I submitted as there always had to be a number for them to choose from. I'm pleased to say they were happy. Add a classic touch to your living space.

Full description
An original painting of white irises and lilac arranged in a copper urn with 4 plums nestled at the base. I have used gouache for body on the flower heads and watercolour for leaves and floral detail. The copper coloured urn is in watercolour as is the soft, muted creamy pink and sepia tones of the background. It was created in my Norfolk studio. The painting is mounted and elegantly framed in lime-washed wood which is ready to hang. The overall measurement is 72cm x 55cm and the internal image is 52cm x 35cm. Add a touch of class to your living space or give as an original copper wedding anniversary present. I have called this one 'Iris and plums'.
