Two very tiny robins appeared on one or two of my items last Christmas - the result of playing around with French knots whilst stitching a landscape. They were popular and are making an appearance on a few more items this year!

Full description
Two very tiny robins huddle to together on a snowy fence at the centre of this felted and embroidered winter scene.
The background of this plaque has been created by felting hand-dyed pale wool fibres into a piece of commercial felt. Details of a winter tree with red berries, fence and the tiny robins have been added in simple embroidery stitches. Drifts of snow have been created by felting 'blobs' blobs of wool fibre in place to represent the larger snow mounds, with snowy white french knots adding to the texture.
The plaque is edged in blanket stitch using pale blue and white threads to tone with the colours used in the background of the plaque.
The plaque is stiffened by a central core of a recycled CD. The back of the plaque is neatened with commercial felt and a hanging loop, of button-hole stitch in cotton, is securely stitched in place.
Height (excluding hanging loop) - 13 cm approx.
Please note this plaque may not be washed. Easel not included.
