Full description
Fused glass freestanding piece on a solid oak base. I have been inspired by the alliums, dandelions and fennel that I grow in my garden for this piece. Using tones of turquoise, pink and orange, this looks lovely either on a window sill with light flooding through it or on a mantelpiece. Each panel is completely unique.
To make it, I used art glass and cut 2 pieces of transparent glass the same shape and size. I then hand cut copper foil with a scalpel, add it to the art glass, added specialist paint which turns into hundreds of tiny turquoise bubbles in the heat of the kiln and fused it slowly overnight. Once completely cooled, I then added petals and leaves which I've cut and shaped from transparent coloured glass. I've also added coloured and dichroic dots which I have made previously to give some added interest to the design. A second firing is done overnight the next day to tack fuse the dots onto the design, so that they stand proud of the glass, giving it a 3D effect. I then glue it securely into a solid oak plinth which allows the panel to stand up.

Glass is very hard to photograph, so your item may look slightly different to how it does on screen. I try my best to capture the colours correctly.
