This dish started out as a slab of stoneware clay. I used a doily to imprint the pattern and then shaped it into the oblong dish. I added rims which were decorated with ceramic balls for added interest. Finally a foot ring was added. After the piece was completely dry it was fired for the first time in the kiln and then glazed with my chosen glaze and fired again for a second time.

Full description
An oblong shaped dish with a lovely textured pattern. Its a shallow dish that is very decorative. but not suitable for serving food on. The rim is decorated with small balls and the beige glaze that has been used changed colour as it melted over the patterning in the clay and the clay balls. It measures 8ins (20cms) by 4ins (10cms) wide.
