Full description
This handmade link bracelet has been created by myself from sterling silver using traditional techniques. It was inspired by ferns and the way in which they uncurl from tight balls into beautiful fully formed leaves. I love watching the transformation of the ferns through the seasons as I walk through the woods.
The bracelet is created from silver hoops of various sizes some of which are hammered to add texture and others are left smooth. The central circle has an oval amazonite gemstone (10x8 mm) set within it with a silver fern uncurling from it. Two other hoops also have uncurling ferns within them. The bracelet fastening is a toggle clasp and the total length of the bracelet is 21 cm although it will fit various wrist sizes as the toggle clasp will fit through different hoops along the bracelet length. The diameter of the central hoop with the gemstone is 18 mm.
In accordance with British law, all sterling silver items over 7.78 grams must be hallmarked as an guarantee of the quality of the material. This bracelet has been hallmarked at the Edinburgh assay office and also includes my makers mark SHD.
This bracelet would make a thoughtful gift for a silver wedding anniversary or for a milestone birthday. It would also be lovely as a gift for a nature lover or a gardener.
