Looking for a plastic free alternative to foam or sponge felting mats? With securely handstitched seams and packed full of buckwheat husks, these hard wearing jute felting pads provide a practical and durable choice for needle felters wishing to work in a more environmentally friendly way.
These MEDIUM sized felting pads measure approximately 7" x 7" (18x18cm) giving you an approximate working area of 5" x 5" square (13x13cm), great for most 3D projects. Stitch colours vary. This pad comes with a set of three assorted sized needles. STITCH COLOURS VARY.
Buckwheat husks (or hulls), traditionally a waste product of buckwheat production, I have found make the ideal filling for these felting pads, providing a firm enough base to work on without impeding the needle.
As with any type of felting pad, care should be taken to regularly left and turn your work in order to prevent it felting itself to the pad (we've all been there!)
Please check my shop for other sizes, or contact me if you would like a custom made size of pad.
I am currently sending most parcels by courier rather than through the Post Office.
