Much of the glass I find on the beach is not suitable to be made into jewellery, yet still has a natural beauty. Suncatchers are an ideal way to show this off. I spotted this piece of driftwood at Fraisthorpe in East Yorkshire - a change of scenery dog walk as lockdown eased. I can see a face in one end, a bit meerkat-ish maybe?

This suncatcher is made with home bleached driftwood found at Fraisthorpe beach with two strands of locally sourced seaglass mounted on unwanted and unused fishing line. The driftwood mount is approx 28cm in length with a nylon line hanger. The seaglass is held in place using beads as stoppers; a part shell is tied onto both lines, see photo. The strands are approx 42 & 43cm in length.
This piece would look good in the garden or indoors in a window, see photos.
Sent out by 2nd class Royal Mail small parcel post. Please ask if you want postage costs to any other part of the world.
