It's lovely to give a new lease of life to these care worn embroidered table linens. I find so many of them on my fabric hunts, and hate to think they could go to waste. They make the nicest small gifts, pretty, but practical, and can be treasured a little longer.

Full description
This pretty lavender bag is made from the corner of a lovely old tray cloth from a charity shop in York. Its vintage embroidery flowers are the perfect size for the front of a lavender bag. I have made the back from a different fragment of the same piece of linen, and filled it with dried lavender from Terrington in North Yorkshire. Since ancient times the lovely lavender has been used to help sleep, keep clothes smelling fresh, and shoo away pesky moths. Lovely to store in a drawer with a bridal gown, it would also make a nice present for a bridesmaid or as a gift for Mum.
This little bag measures 9 cm by 9 cm
Inside is nestling a muslin pillow filled with Yorkshire lavender.
There is a practical hook for popping onto a clothes hanger or hanging up in a bedroom, to keep the air sweet.
The front and back are made from different sections of vintage embroidery, and create a different design front and back.
The bag is finished off with my own embroidered name tag.
Just squeeze gently from time to time to refresh your lavender scent.
