Full description
A beautiful unique fused glass dish which can be used as a soap dish, holding rings and trinkets, or sweets. It was made using multiple glass stringers arranged on a clear base of glass and fused to 800 degrees Celsius in the kiln resulting in a scalloped edge. After slowly cooling it was placed back in the kiln to slump over a dish mould to take the shape. Both firings included an annealing process to strengthen the glass and reduce and thermal shock when cooling.
The design uses the wonderful Vitrum Optics technique which creates the bubble feature. It measures approximately 16.5cm by 10.3 cm and stands max 2.5cm high.
