I often take inspiration from my materials and love the effect made by the black and white enamels. I am also inspired by the graphic shapes created in the layout of a keyboard.

My Piano Keys Brooch has a simple, strong design. I chose to make it in an oval shape cut from recycled copper, as I felt this would emphasise the bold piano keys/keyboard. It is enamelled in black and white in a process which involves building up several layers on both sides with firings in between. The keys design is applied as the final layer. The brooch measures approximately 40mm x 30mm and has a silver-plated brooch pin attached. The enamel on the reverse is a mixed colour and gives strength and durability to the brooch. It is presented in a quality card gift box and will be sent by Royal Mail 'Tracked' postage inside a cardboard packaging box for protection.
