I have often stitched garden designs, frequently on felted backgrounds. This is one in a series of items embroidered on painted backgrounds.

Full description
Hand embroidery, on a hand-painted background, creates the pretty garden scene on this bookmark. An ideal gift for gardeners and booklovers - this bookmark posts easily!
A background of sky, foliage, and the largest blooms in this design, was hand-painted onto fabric. This was backed with fusible interfacing. Details of flowers and foliage have been added by hand embroidery in a variety of threads and wools.
The edges of the bookmark are finished in blanket stitch in matching cotton threads. The design is completed by pink ribbon tails. The back of the embroidered bookmark is neatened with a second layer of interfacing
