It’s always bothered me, all my scraps of silver, the waste!
I worked as a Fair Trade Designer for over a decade and it was a big part of my role, to be mindful about anything from paper waste to the companies carbon footprint. We developed a lot of ranges from recycled materials in India, Bangladesh, Bali and Nepal from plastic bags, bottles and packaging to the re-using of production waste and factory off-cuts.
I’ve often just stared at my scraps of silver and wondered, what could I do with it short of having it melted down into recycled silver to then re-work? Well these little earrings are a start, made with all those little discarded pieces. And I love them!

Set of 3 recycled silver earring studs. Perfect for multiple piercings.
Made from my silver scraps - ends of wire and off cuts from sheet.
I straighten and chop and neaten the ends of discarded wire into little sticks, and heat scraps of sheet silver into little balls before soldering sterling silver ear posts to the back of each. I polish to a high shine finish.
Each set consists of:
1 x plain stick stud
1 x diamond weave cut or diamond cut stick stud
1 x ball stud
Each stick length will vary slightly and also the ball size, which is approx. 4-5 mm.
The balls also have an imperfect texture from the nature of their re-loving! I love this, their unique nature and that these earrings are made from left over silver that would otherwise be seen as waste.
I hope you like them. They come displayed on an earring card and nestled in one of my branded pillow boxes.
