I have been experimenting with various types of fabric paint, crayons and dyes. The results are lovely brooches and bookmarks which are produced a little more quickly than entirely hand-sticthed alternatives - allowing me to list these at a favourable price!

Full description
A posy of roses has been drawn onto a plain fabric and embellished with hand embroidery to form this distinctive textile bookmark.
Artists crayons were used to draw a simple floral design on a piece of fabric which was then ironed to remove excess colour and heat set the design. The design was enhanced with some very simple embroidery. A fine sewing cotton has been used to blanket stitch around the edge of the bookmark which has been backed with fusible interfacing. The design has been finished with a coat of pva glue to seal the colour.
The bookmark has been completed by the addition of ribbon tails in two coordinating colours.
Length of embroidered panel - 13.5 cm approx.
Total length - 21 cm approx.
