Amber is a very lightweight gemstone and is similar to lava and pearls in that it is an organic gemstone and therefore warm to the touch. Amber is created from fossilised tree resin so when you wear amber you are actually wearing something that is millions of years old.
Although amber isn't a birthstone but it is linked with the zodiac sign Taurus and so this bracelet would make a very thoughtful gift for someone with a birthday between 19 April and 20 May.
I have created this Baltic amber chip bracelet by knotting black thread between each chip and finishing it off with a sterling silver clasp. The bracelet measures 20.5cm (8 inches) although if you contact me I can make one to your measurements.
