The inspiration was a piece of driftwood that looked like estuary mud!!

Full description
This avocet has been hand carved and painted with acrylics. It is slimline but lifesize in profile with an overall height of 30cm. It is 34cm from beak to tail and the widest part of the driftwood base is 8cm. It has hand tinted glass eyes and an elegant upswept bill and has been finished to a soft shine with wax.
